Exit Point
A smalltime mobster’s no-hassle heist turns out to be the money and drugs of a rival leader. 22-year-old Ian Martinez escapes the United States in an attempt to move his life forward through higher education but is lured into unlawful activity by predatory gang members. The entry point begins when a group of gangsters who befriend Ian take full advantage of him knowing he’s in unfamiliar territory.
Set in the heart of Puerto Rico, Ian enrolls in university with the support of his uncle and begins his new life away from his past misadventures on the mainland. While attempting to discover his Puerto Rican roots and a future filled with possibilities in the Caribbean, Ian dreams of starting his own business but realizes he will need an investment or at least a partner. Out one fateful night Ian becomes friends with a circle of hoodlums and is persuaded to get involved in a no-hassle heist for a local mobster. Ian is suddenly confronted with having to prove himself on the streets or be hunted. After robbing the wrong boss, Ian’s friends, who work for both bosses, turn on him and unleash the bloody pursuit. Frantically scheming to revenge the theft, local boss Muarto Gonzales, orders a hitman, The Snake, to find Ian and send a message to his rival kingpin.
The division between a life of opportunity and that of quick riches disappears as the temptation to score big by selling guns and drugs leaves his life in disarray. Confined to the spiraling chaos of warring brotherhoods, Ian frantically seeks that point of his higher self to determine where he will find his Exit Point.
